About Us
The concept of Highsmith & Highsmith started in 1999 when Shane Highsmith graduated from Clemson University with a degree in accounting. Todd Highsmith, Shane’s brother, was working as a CFO at the time.
Shane and Todd wanted a different kind of CPA firm. They wanted daily operations to be driven by their commitment to their clients’ success. They wanted their clients to feel comfortable, not talked-down-to. They wanted to offer practical, sound advice based on their expertise and experience, to help guide clients in their decision-making processes.
The concept of a family-owned firm based on these principles became a reality twelve years later, and the brothers chose their hometown of Travelers Rest, SC to locate their office. The brothers’ combined experience enables them to offer clients a full range of expert financial services in way that leaves clients confident that their companies are on a path of growth and profitability.
